Brittany L. Murrell, OD
Dr. Brittany Murrell was born and raised in Ellsworth, Kansas, and graduated from Ellsworth High School. She completed her undergraduate studies at Kansas State University (KSU) and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. While at KSU, Dr. Murrell served as the President of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She received her Doctorate in Optometry from Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, Tennessee, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2020. Dr. Murrell received the Dr. W.C. Maples Award for her commitment to optometric private practice.
While at SCO, Dr. Murrell was a member of Remote Area Medical (RAM) and organized many service trips, delivering eye care to remote areas in Tennessee and surrounding states. She was also involved in Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH) and went on an optometric mission trip to Belize. Additionally, she was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa optometric honor society.
Dr. Murrell is an active member of the Kansas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She enjoys providing comprehensive eye care, as well as fitting contact lenses and managing ocular disease. She completed externships in her fourth year of optometry school at the Robert J. Dole V.A. in Wichita, focusing on ocular disease, and at Vision Source Eyecare in Kansas City, Missouri, concentrating on primary eye care.
Dr. Murrell has provided eye care to the Wichita and surrounding areas for the last four years at Lentz Eye Care and is looking forward to serving the Hutchinson area as well.
Dr. Murrell and her husband, Dr. Matthew Lorson, live in Hutchinson with their mini golden doodle, Rigby. They enjoy cheering on the Kansas State Wildcats, Kansas City Chiefs, and Kansas City Royals.
