Matthew J. Lorson, O.D.
Dr. Matthew J. Lorson is a native of Hope, Kansas, raised on a farm near town. He completed his undergraduate studies at Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. After completing his undergraduate degree, he attended the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee for four years, graduating Magna Cum Laude. During optometry school, Dr. Lorson made an international service trip as part of the Student Volunteer in Optometric Service to Humanity organization to Belmopan, Belize.
Dr. Lorson completed an externship in his fourth year of optometry school at Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska. There, he saw patients at an Indian health clinic that serves indigenous communities in the southwest part of the state, with a focus on ocular disease. He also completed an externship at the Family Eyecare Center in Leavenworth, Kansas, focusing on primary care.
Dr. Lorson is a member of the Kansas Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.
When not seeing patients in the office, Dr. Lorson enjoys collecting vinyl records, playing the piano, Kansas City Chiefs football, and spending time with his wife, Dr. Brittany Murrell.
